Mr. Leitman has been with Five Mile since inception in 2003. Prior to Five Mile, he served as Vice President in the Real Estate Department at Salomon Smith Barney Inc., where, among other responsibilities, he was an active member of the Credit Committee, determining policies and procedures for the commercial mortgage loan conduit and actively monitoring portfolio credit exposures. He acted as First Vice President at PaineWebber and Kidder, Peabody for more than nine years in aggregate, where he developed, built and managed an extensive mortgage loan closing operation, and coordinated and managed the purchase and disposition of numerous mortgage loans and collateral assets. During this period, he worked with Messrs. Baum, Glasgow and Lattimer. For the preceding six years, Mr. Leitman acted as an Underwriting Manager and Acquisitions Manager for a number of depository institutions. Mr. Leitman holds a BA from State University of New York at New Paltz and has conducted post-graduate studies in real estate at New York University and law at Adelphi University.
